~ Make Believe ~

This world is made of fantasy and make believe

Superheroes and Love at First Sight.

Where are those heroes

When our poor youth or innocents are being gunned down?

Where are those heroes

When our girls are beaten by parents or men and cannot find the courage to walk away?

Where is the make believe, our imagination

When we want to wish ourselves away?

Where we want to escape the poverty?

Where we want to just find nothing but peace?

Where is there love?

Where is the marriage that will last 50 years like our ancestors?

Why are there so many stories of people being cheated on?

This is all our reality.

There is no make believe when you are an adult.

There are no superheroes in the sense of movies.

Only those who try everything in their power to be helpful and kind to others.

Love at First Sight?

It can happen,

But only for those who really seek out love,

Not another way to get out,

Or to rush into something that society has created.

For some it can happen quickly.

For others, it may take a long time.

Society has set such high standards of what we perceive in our lives.

If we just see life through the eyes we were given,

Without judgement,

Without hate,

With adoration,

With amazement,

Maybe we can make those “make believes,”

Our life’s truth?
